Introducing Foreign Lawyers Bar Exam!
Aug 31, 2021
Over the past few years I have received increasing requests for advice from foreign lawyers from across the globe who want to do the same thing that I did: pass the U.S. bar exam and become a fully licensed lawyer in the states. I am flattered that so many of you have reached out to me to ask for help, and in response to this growing demand for guidance, tips, and best-practices, I am glad to introduce Foreign Lawyers Bar Exam (FLBE) to you all!
FLBE has been a months-long project that I started with the aim of helping foreign trained lawyers pass the U.S. bar exam and jumpstart their careers in the arena of international law. Back when I took my exam in 2015, I felt as though there was a severe lack of resources tailored to foreign lawyers navigating the difficult U.S. bar admissions process. I often found myself scrambling through online forums to find any tidbit of information -- I was completely lost. Fast forward five years later, and I still found there to be relatively limited resources dedicated to the plight of the foreign trained lawyer vying to achieve bar admission in the U.S. Because of this, I decided to take matters into my own hands and develop a line of self-help resources that will lessen your stress, answer all of your most urgent questions, and more generally, help you succeed when it comes time to take your exam or start your career as an international lawyer.
The FLBE Program is a diverse array of content carefully tailored to foreign trained lawyers trying to become admitted to the bar in the U.S. Three different content packages offer you the program, complementary articles, recorded interviews with international lawyers, personal 1v1 consultations, office hours every other week, access to a community of colleagues, and a host of other helpful resources that will provide you with all of the information you need to excel during your bar exam experience. The FLBE Program covers a broad range of subjects and is a depository of exam requirements and criteria, valuable personal advice, proven best-practices, and wise career mentorship. It will teach you how to study for the exam effectively, manage a busy schedule, approach university studies in the U.S., account for expenses, plan for your visa, and pursue your career goals after the bar. The FLBE Program ultimately serves as a how-to manual for your life in the U.S. before, during, and after the bar exam. In creating the FLBE Program, my intent is not to replace a traditional bar-prep program, but to rather create the perfect supplement that will make your experience as smooth as can be.
It is my hope that with FLBE, we can create a community of international lawyers who are committed to helping each other achieve success. As foreign trained attorneys try to pass the U.S. bar, we face incredible difficulties and must overcome great obstacles. Because of this harsh reality, I want the FLBE Program to serve as your compass in the U.S., arming you with critical knowledge and providing you a support network of people who share your interests and goals.
I plan to continually expand FLBE’s content in order to provide you with as much information as possible. Additions will be made, new interviews will be conducted, the community will grow, and new written content will be published: a number of new, exciting content pieces are currently in the works as well!
